This 4,460 square foot McDonald’s restaurant located in the Abercorn Common shopping center in Savannah, Georgia is the first McDonald’s in the county to become LEED Gold Certified in 2006.  This design features clearstory windows providing natural daylight to illuminate the seating area. Additionally, highly efficient mechanical systems, a reflective “cool” roof, and porous paving were installed.  Using a yellow roof and brick detailing allowed the design to maintain the McDonald’s brand identity while adhering to the strict development architectural guidelines.
