Mooresville Fire Station No. 1 was designed and built in 1993. This project consisted of a 7,200 SF alteration to a 45-year-old automotive service station. Fire Station No. 1 now accommodates the Fire Marshal’s offices and the Mooresville Battalion Chief as well as an engine crew. The engine crew’s apparatus, the Fire Marshal’s vehicles, and Battalion Chief’s vehicles are all housed in the apparatus bay. The facility included administrative offices, a training room, living quarters, a kitchen, and a dispatch center. Adams + Associates worked closely with the Town of Mooresville Fire Department to ensure the transformation of the existing building met all the needs of the department and also presented an exterior appearance in keeping with the surrounding community, all while adhering to a tight construction budget.
